Catering + Events Manager

Millie’s Nantucket is looking for an experienced, motivated, and fun Catering + Events Manager!Work schedule will include days, nights, and weekends based on scheduled events or business necessity. This position will be the priority for this employee and off-hours only can be spent working at Millie’s Nantucket restaurant serving. The Manager will report to and communicate with the General Manager on all fronts.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Coordinate, organize, & execute on and off site events, catering, and cart activities; leading and training the staff, evaluating opportunities, managing budgets and communicating with the clients and DC-based catering and events team
  2. Collaborate with the General Manager in directing, training, scheduling, and supervising all Catering + Events staff in the performance of their duties
  3. Communicate with kitchen staff for revisions and updates of the events menu regularly, reflecting culinary needs and member/client needs, including staying ahead of any special order items, customizing printed or painted menus, etc.
  4. Meet weekly with the Management team to review upcoming events and parties, BEOs, inform all necessary departments of any updates or changes, etc.
  5. Oversee all operations of the Cisco Brewery Food Cart & the Sconset Casino Food Cart, including scheduling, ordering, and operating of the trucks.
  6. Maintain cleanliness and operational standards of all food/beverage carts, including alerting the GM of issues with equipment and coordinating repairs
  7. Be on call to help with staffing needs in the restaurant & in the field
  8. Cultivate strong client relationships/partnerships, ensuring client satisfaction

  • Understand, follow and be accountable for  proper credit card  & cash handling procedures

REPORTS TO: Millie’s Nantucket General Manager, Georgetown Events Leadership Team & Ownership


OVERSEES: All Catering + Events staff


PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
  • Basic graphic design experience (Canva etc.)
  • Experience with restaurant POS systems (Toast, Square, RESY, PerfectVenue, & HotSchedules)
  • Experience with food carts & trailers
  • Experience with catering & special events
  • Ability to do basic repairs & maintenance

EDUCATION: High school diploma required. Degree in Business Administration; hospitality management or culinary schooling is a plus


LICENSE: Valid driver’s license required, able to procure any necessary health, food, and alcohol licenses


LANGUAGE: Must be fluent in English, conversational Spanish is a plus
